Marstin-As a youngster I kept alot of small of live stock, Rabbits, Dogs, Chickens, Pigeons and Ferrets. so I have always been around livestock. Then when I was 9 years old I got a Saturday job at my local farm. It then turned into me going to the farm anytime that I wasn't at school. This unfortunately all came to end when, I was 15,  the owner of the farm died.

Emma-When I was with my parents we kept dogs but only one at time like most poeple.

So when we got married in 1997 and moved into our own house in Houghton Regis, with the house came a quarter of an acre garden and Emma decided that she wanted pets. Marstin's children from his first marriage started us of with rabbits first of all, but Emma wanted her own and so this is where the budgies came in.

Firstly we built a custom made shed with everything that exhibition budgerigars needed, We had spent a year reading and going around different breeders and looking how they had set thier birdrooms up and everytime there was something we liked we would note it down so we could discuss how we were going to put our birdroom together.

One of our first breeders and Champions we went to see was Geoff Capes and who helped us to set our first birdroom up, and still continues to help us to this day.

We now live in Holbeach, Lincolnshire where we have a brick built birdroom, with double glazing and is 22x 16x 10 foot high, we moved in 2006, we did this as we wanted to down size on our house and mortgage. Since moving we have concentrated on normal colours and moved away from our Rares which we have done well with. 

We both work within most of our clubs or societies, which is our way of giving back to our hobby.

Also a great joy in our lifes is our grandson, Liam, who also loves our birds and takes a great interest in them, also as you can see other hobbies.
